Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Elevatix (“Elevatix”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), which operates the Elevatix website, apps, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account, joining the early-access waitlist, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use Elevatix

Elevatix is built for school and college students, their parents, and mentors.

• If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your activity.
• For users below the age defined as a child under applicable law, a parent or guardian must create and supervise the account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Service only for lawful, educational purposes.

By using Elevatix, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account

To access most features, you'll create an account. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login details secure and confidential.
• All activity that happens under your account.
• Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

Please keep your account information accurate and up to date. We may refuse, suspend, or remove accounts that violate these Terms.

4. The service & early access

Elevatix provides AI tutoring, live mentor sessions, peer community features, study tools, and parent progress tracking. During early access or beta periods, some features may be incomplete, may change, or may not always be available. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time as we improve the Service.

5. Subscriptions & payments

Some features require a paid subscription. Current plans and prices are shown on our Pricing page.

• Billing — paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis, as you choose at checkout.
• Renewals — subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• Cancellation — you can cancel anytime; your plan stays active until the end of the current paid period.
• Refunds — except where required by law, payments are generally non-refundable. Any refund terms we offer will be described at the point of purchase.
• Price changes — we may change prices, and will give reasonable notice before changes affect your renewal.

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; by subscribing, you also agree to their terms.

6. Acceptable use

To keep Elevatix safe and useful for everyone, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for cheating, exam fraud, plagiarism, or any academically dishonest purpose prohibited by your school or institution.
• Break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload harmful, hateful, harassing, or explicit content.
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.
• Share your account, resell access, or use the Service on behalf of others without permission.
• Misuse the AI to generate unlawful, dangerous, or abusive content.

We may remove content or restrict accounts that breach these rules.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the notes, files, questions, and other materials you upload or create (“Your Content”). By submitting Your Content, you grant Elevatix a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and display it solely to operate and improve the Service for you — for example, to generate AI responses, study materials, and progress insights.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.

8. AI-generated content

Elevatix uses artificial intelligence to help you learn. AI responses can sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and are provided for educational support only. They are not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice, nor a guarantee of exam results. Always review important information and use your own judgement. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content.

9. Mentors & community

Elevatix connects students with mentors and peer communities. Mentors provide guidance based on their own knowledge and experience; we do not guarantee specific outcomes from any session. When using community features, you agree to be respectful, follow our guidelines, and not post harmful or inappropriate content. We may moderate, remove content, or restrict participation to keep the community safe.

10. Intellectual property

The Elevatix platform — including its software, design, logos, branding, and content we create — is owned by Elevatix and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service or use our trademarks without our written permission.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. Please review it to understand our practices.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any content or AI output will be accurate or meet your expectations. You use the Service at your own discretion and risk.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elevatix and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or opportunities, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or the minimum permitted by law.

14. Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where required by law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, though some provisions — like intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, unless applicable law requires otherwise. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
